A trend that I just CAN’T stop loving is a bold color on the wall. It’s dramatic, it’s stylish and it’s timeless. Everyone wants to make big changes in their home without breaking the bank. This dark wall phenomena is the solution! My assistant and SG contributor, Janna Smith, wanted to do something new in her dining room. So we partnered with Pratt and Lambert to create a striking dining room. We used their beautiful paint color, Deep Charcoal 25-18. It took this once white space and it created a fantastic back drop for furniture and lighting. Pratt and Lambert has been around for over 165 years, which shows with the level of quality in the paint. They have a fantastic variety of colors, in every color range imaginable.
Before, the walls were an off white, while the built in was a light grey. There wasn’t much contrast in the space. Now with the walls being dark, this space holds it’s own personality in the home. One thing that I love most about Deep Charcoal 25-18 is the deep intensity that it gives off. With accent walls being all the rage right now, it’s the best feeling to find a color that is an instant win in any space! I would love to see this color in a bathroom.
With the built in being the same dark tone, all of the accessories pop brilliantly. Below are a few colors, accessories and materials to consider adding when working the dark walls.
1. Wood
2. Gold or Brass
3. Plants
4. Marble
5. White Ceramic
6. Woven Materials

Really like how light bounces off the textured wall.
Gorgeous! This post is a great example of how dark, dramatic colors work well in a small space. Plus, the photography is excellent!
LOVE this! We just recently repainted our bathroom all black with white trim. Feel free to come look at it!
