The Plan…

So, I told all of you that I was planning a total redo on my kid’s bedrooms and though that has not happened quite yet, I did organize and clean out their rooms yesterday.  That alone feels amazing!   A few things will need our attention SOON.  I noticed that my son’s walls are trashed, badly trashed.  We used a flat paint (what were we thinking??) and there are a multitude of scuffs and marks all over.  Eden’s walls are also in need of help.  She took it upon herself to decorate the walls with My Little Pony stickers.  When I removed them yesterday, half the paint came off too.  Ug.

Our plan is paint both rooms, purchase or make bunk beds for Ethan, new chandelier for Eden, paint Eden’s headboard a bright color, new bedding for both and so on and so forth.  Do any of you know of stylish and affordable bunk beds?  My husband is tempted to make them but if we can buy them already made, so much better!

I just saw this photo on Living Etc. today!! I actually “pinned” it for my inspiration files.

Sounds like you have a lot to do for the kiddies. Unfortunately, I don’t have any sources for bunkbeds, other than IKEA.

    Good luck!

I just left my girlfriend’s home and she just bought bunk beds from IKEA for her girls. They really look great!

Doesn’t it feel good to clean out? It is like you have to get to that place before the creativity can come. Julie

I too need modern/clean bunkbed for my girls room. My husband too wants to make the bunk bed, but I am concerned about safety – thoughts? A few options from Ikea are ok in my opinion, but I was hoping for something slightly better quality – room and board has a nice option but it is pricey. Please keep us posted on what you find.

So excited to see what you do! I was actually daydreaming about what your kids bathroom looks like. I want to update Evelette’s but am lacking inspiration!

    Luvs!

Bunk beds are great… I am always keeping my eyes open. I like the pottery barn kids ones but soooo expensive. The IKEA ones just don’t seem so sturdy. But maybe others have them and are happy? The clutter in my kids rooms was screaming at me today too…. it collects sooo fast!

We have the Ikea ones in storage right now. We haven’t moved into our house yet, but I plan on painting them gray when we get there. :) I’ll let you know how we like them.

Bunk Bed king has the best prices, but we have not yet ordered from them so I don’t know about reliability. I have been looking for the past few months while we waited to find out about getting to officially adopt our son. Most of the reviews for Bunk Bed king are great.
