Put your makeup on…

I have posted about this desk before but I recently turned it into a vanity for the times that I want to sit rather than stand to do my makeup.

The desk was my grandfathers and I spruced it up a bit without having to paint it by giving it new knobs from Anthropologie. The Chair is a Miss Global chair by KartellMiss Global was the first chair produced in plastic with angular lines.  I found mine off of Ebay a few years ago.

The mirror has been in every house I have ever lived in.  My mom loved it and somehow I found favor one day and she gave it to me!  Thanks mom.
I added a simple glass vase to store makeup brushes, a clock to keep me on time, an empty candle box to store extra makeup and linen water that serves no purpose but to look pretty.

Anthro knobs.

What do you think of my vanity?  Do you have one of your own?

Nice work Kirsten. I wish I had somewhere to sit and apply makeup. I wish I had time to apply makeup. Never mind. I like that you’ve found a practical use for this special desk of yours.

I don’t have one, but I may need to create an area in my next place! I love the way you arranged the mirror and art on the wall.

I love it!!! Such a great idea. I have my grandmother’s old secretary desk that I’ve been wanting to refurbish. I think it would make a cute little vanity. Thanks for the inspiration.

There is something to say about natural beauty-this is wonderful! I love that you have pieces that are in relation with family – everyday while sitting you have an amazing reminder of your heritage and love!

I think it’s very sweet! And I adore that mirror — what a nice Mom :)

I don’t have a vanity, but have always wanted one…

    Kristen,

Great vanity, I love that you spruced it up with knobs alone as opposed to paint, very cool. I indeed have a vanity but no slot for my feet to tuck in, I hate that!

    Hi Kirsten,

What a lovely spot to sit and get ready for the day, but also to daydream :-) I would love to have a vanity and your setup shows how a compact and streamlined (but with warmth, history and love) space can be set up. I think I’m now going to set up an inspiration file for my future vanity…first pic in is yours!

    Cheers,
    Imogen
