I Like…

Its Friday! I plan on doing some thrifting this weekend. We shall see if I score any deals.

A few favorite things in my house...

The above image is some of my favorite things right now in my house. The wooden tealight holder is from Target in their dollar section. Woop woop!  (Target coupons too!) The pretty vintage dish was my Grandmothers.  She displayed it on her dresser and it held her rings. ( I use it for the same thing.)  And the necklace has been a favorite staple piece of mine for awhile.   I am always in the mood to wear it.  Do you have a favorite item in your home that you would be so sad to lose??

Have a fantastic weekend and I will see you on Monday!! xx

What a pretty picture. If I lost anything I have that belonged to my grandmother or my great grandmother, I’d be really sad.

HA so funny I was just thinking you should do a pic blog of your readers fav item in our home! What brought on this thought was my son acidently pushed over my huge bookcase (used for a whopping 8 books and the rest decor haha). I saw teal shattered across the floor and almost burst into tears! Turns out it was a thrift shop teal cup that broke and NOT my Favorite pieve in my entire home! Thankfully that made it out ok!
It is a heavy squaty glass vase that has a flower frog on top. It’s teal and the flower frog is clear. My Grandma died when I was 2 and I don’t remember her-but everyone says I am just like her-so it helps me feel connected to her. When in season I love to clip orange roses and fill the frog as full as I can..I could take pictures of it all day long!

My favorite items are the ones from my grandmother as well. The other night I was missing her so I went into my closet where I have a makeup bag that belonged to her that still smells like her, so I opened it up and went to snif it, and started crying because I couldn’t smell it :( so pathetic.
I’m STILL mad about the box of clothes the movers lost of her old dresses…

I live overseas from my native country, and I have a pendant that belonged to my Mum with me. I’d be too devestated if I ever lost that. Hope you’re having a great weekend Kirsten!

Oooh! I love the necklace! It is so special to have things that have been passed down from the people you love! My Mom has an angel-wing begonia that was a start from my Grandma’s plant and Robyn has a start from Mom’s and we are just about to plant some more starts for us girls. =] I just love it!

Pretty photo! Somehow I ended up with both “mother” rings that my grandmothers had. (the ones with the birthstones for each grandchild). I treasure those..and would hate to lose them!

By the way – that tealight holder is from Target’s Dollar Section?! I missed it the last time I was at Target. And it’s a dead ringer for the one I have from IKEA that cost $8.
Guess who’s going to Target tonight?!!
