I am getting excited for Fall and everything that comes with it. Hot drinks, coats, fuzzy blankets and spicy scents. When it comes to decorating I don’t fill me house with the traditional fall colors but I do love warm textiles and textures. I am in the process of recovering my pillows in all sorts of plaids. Talking Squid
Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008Taryn Boyd had a great idea when she started making these recycled 100% tee shirt rugs.
The rugs take about 20 hours of sewing time for the 5′x8′, they are made from 100% after market tee shirts that she hand cuts into strips and then sewn onto a tee shirt jersey base. The beige color rug is dyed naturally with decaf coffee, and the others are made right from the existing tee shirt without dying. She does specialty shapes, color mixtures, dyes, and sizes for offices, retail spaces, and homes. What a great product, right? Check out her Etsy here.

Monday, July 21st, 2008Going along with my flooring topic from last week are these rugs that are about the coolest things out there right now. I found them today on Brocade Design’s fabulous blog. How amazing are these against dark hardwood!?
Carpet
Wednesday, July 16th, 2008I have been thinking alot about how I want to rip out all my downstairs carpet but unfortunately budget does not allow. We wanted hardwood floors to cover all of our downstairs when we were in the process of building but it just couldn’t happen in every room. My carpet has become dull and worn in just a year. We even paid extra for upgraded carpet but I’m pretty sure we got ripped off.
So now I’m intrigued by patterned, printed and textured carpets (not that I can get all new carpet). Carpet has come such a long way from just berber carpet. Stark Carpet, which was featured in this months Domino, has many BRILLIANT options in carpet. They also carry rugs, wall coverings, fabric, furniture and even car couture products!
Create a room in your brain in 10 seconds flat!
Wednesday, April 30th, 2008I really enjoy creating rooms in my head. There are endless possibility’s and endless options for furniture, accessories, ect, and sometimes when I am in the mood to redo something its best to just design it in my head or else I would change things in my house ALL OF THE TIME or change my mind on design projects constantly.
I saw this couch at Lee Furniture and thought it would be fun to create a family lounge around it so here is my lounge idea!

Entryway
Sunday, March 9th, 2008I have a liking towards great entryways. Its the moment when people first judge and critique your home. Since it is the first and last thing a guest sees we better make it fabulous.
I put these options together for a great setup.
Some people prefer a table to set keys and misc items on. I prefer a bench for guests to sit comfortably when removing shoes or getting there stuff together. Both options are great, just find what works for you and your family. This Williams Sonoma bench is mahogany with bamboo detailing. It looks very cultured but chic. Love it.
Every entryway needs a great rug that is beautiful and durable.
![]() This mirror will be striking against the contrast of the wallpaper. I like contrast!! (Brocade Home)
It is always a fun gesture to make available cozy slippers for your guests. Store them in this Montauk wicker basket from Ballards.
To finish this space off we need a quirky coat rack and I found the perfect one Let me know what you think of this entryway presentation. Im thinking I need this for my own house! |

Ooooh…..rugs
Monday, March 3rd, 2008A rug completes a room and brings warmness to any space. I feel like a space can feel naked without a great rug. Plus it is warm to the feet!! Here are a few of my favorite rugs. (Several are from Madeline Weinrib. I cant help that I love the whole entire collection!!)
