I first noticed that this talented artist and I share our first name. And then I noticed that she resides in Boise. And after that I quickly realized that I absolutely love her work. That is one fantastic combination!
Kirsten M. Furlong’s work includes both painting and printmaking. Her portfolio is quite extensive and from the sound of it, her work is well recognized. Lovely!

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010Les Bois Tuesday: Pure Mod Life
Tuesday, February 16th, 2010I am so happy to be announcing this! One of my dearest, closest friends has started something that I think should have begun a long time ago! My bestie, Jennifer Barth, who is an absolute organic, nutritionist genius, has finally started a blog, Pure Mod Life. She will be sharing her wisdom for us all to hear. And not only will she be posting weekly about food, gardening, ect. She will also be giving us tips on organizing (did I mention that she is one of the best organizers I know?) and even decor tips. Her aesthetic is very clean, modern, fabulous and well…..organized! You seriously need to add her to your google reader, bloglines, and any other reader. I am telling you, you will not be disappointed. And if you don’t believe me about her amazing aesthetic, take a look at her abode below.

Who would not want this office? (Above) Its totally functional, organized, and well designed.
These mirrors were a DIY project.
A cozy modern corner.
Les Bois Tuesday: Latta
Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010Latta Showroom is my all time favorite design spot in Boise! I wish that I could afford everything (or anything) because I would probably buy one of each item. They carry brands like Knoll to chilewich. Items like Louis ghost chairs to George Nelson bubble lamps. Its a designers dream shop. There are times when I have visited purely to get insired. (I did receive a birthday present from my amazing husband a few years ago from Latta. Thanks babe.)
Latta is located at North 9th st in downtown Boise. Make a visit and thank me later.
Les Bois Tuesday: The Modern Hotel…
Tuesday, January 26th, 2010If you love modern and or vintage modern why wouldn’t you want to stay at Boise’s Modern Hotel?? I personally have not yet tried this mid century Hotel out but I am thinking that this would be the perfect getaway spot for hubby and I. I did take a tour last year with my friend and I was quite impressed with the furniture choices and aesthetic of each room.

If you are a local, make sure to tour or just pick a weekend to have a mini getaway at The Modern Hotel. If you live out of State or country, come visit!! Visit their site and blog.
Les Bois Tuesday: Miso…
Tuesday, January 19th, 2010I discovered this Etsy seller at a local holiday market located at the Flying M in Nampa this past December. I instantly loved Abbie’s style and choice of colors as well as her use of patterns. She sells everything from pillows, to pretty brooches. Abbie has a good thing going with Miso!
Read below for a brief description from Abbie.

I am a 28 year old mother to a ridiculously cute 3 year old girl, and fiance to a super hot Australian man. Both of them being my biggest inspirations. I grew up around a mother that was always sewing and always encouraging me to express myself through art. When I had my daughter Paige I decided to create my own little Etsy shop to help me keep my sanity while being a stay at home mother. I am a very social person, and this was my way of staying in contact with the “Outside World”. Since then I have become completely obsessed with sewing and designing. I love puting together random colors, and textures. When I’m not sewing I am chasing my daughter, working full time, shopping for more fabric, or day dreaming about lying on a beach somewhere warm. Someday I hope to be able to work as a full time designer with my own studio space outside of my home.
Great job Abbie!

Tuesday, December 29th, 2009Today’s Les Bois Tuesday, Bella Grano, is run by a local artist, Trish, who sells everything from pillows to pouches. She also makes jewelry. Her airplane necklaces are ADORABLE. I have to say that my favorite items are the airplane pillows. I would love a few for my sons room.

Les Bois Tuesday: Warm Springs Ave.
Tuesday, December 1st, 2009My hubby and I love taking long drives during the holiday season. Nothing like a Starbucks in hand, Christmas music and conversation as your driving around looking at fantastic homes. A favorite street of ours to stroll down is the famous Warm Springs Ave in Boise. The homes are huge and gorgeous. I always wonder what the interiors of these homes have to offer. I am sure they are as grand as the exteriors!
Les Bois Tuesday: Puffy Mondaes
Tuesday, November 17th, 2009If there was a moment that I wanted to learn how to knit or discover how to paint an oil painting, it was when I walked into Puffy Mondaes. What a fun place! Whether you are into pottery, painting, making art dolls, sewing, knitting, spinning weaving, fiber art or even creating mosaic tile, there is something for everyone. Puffy Mondaes specializes in unique, local, sustainable, fair wage and organic fiber products for dying, spinning, weaving, knitting and crocheting. Also it is a very kid friendly place. (There was a basket of toys to entertain my kids while I peeked around. Thank you Puffy Mondaes!)
Keren and Aaron Brown opened up shop in December of 07. It seems that Puffy Mondaes is keeping them quite busy. They offer classes for almost everything I listed (above) throughout the week for adults and kids. And every Tuesday and Thursday from 7-10 pm is Open Craft Night. (All class schedules are listed on there site.)
They have a great gift selection as well.
Read more about Puffy Mondaes on there site and make sure to stop by and say hello! They are located on 12th Ave S. in Nampa.

Farm House Sale….
Thursday, October 22nd, 2009
If you live in the Boise valley, you must take a visit to a lovely Farm House Sale Friday (tomorrow) and or Saturday from 9am to 7pm. Jodi Huff and her team have a lovely set up with some fabulous Antique and Vintage items. Seriously, I was overwhelmed with the amount of goodies that I wanted to take home with me. There is art, furniture, kitchen items, linens, fabric and soooo much more!
Please, someone buy this chair!
I LOVE white Christmas trees! Imagine it with all clear large ball ornaments.
There is some serious kitchen eye candy in the house.
These benches would be cute in a breakfast nook area.
They have vintage ornaments, lights and other Christmas items.
I was eyeing the curtains on the right.
I bought these vintage fabrics. I want to put the star fabric in my son’s room. Cute huh?
Please only take cash with you. Happy shopping!
Les Bois Tuesday: Cassis…..
Tuesday, October 20th, 2009This next stop on the Les Bois Tuesday train is the cute kids shop, Cassis. Located downtown Boise on Idaho St., Cassis began as a high decor shop and overtime developed into a child’s boutique carrying brands like Room Seven, Baby LuLu and Positively Organic. Shop owner Molly Henggeler is a mom of 2 so she knows exactly what moms and children need concerning fashion, books and toys. This shop is full of eye candy, amazing fashion, quaint details and whimsical toys. Mom’s, you will love everything about it.I want these Misha LuLu dresses for my daughter!
Hand painted gift boxes make your Cassis gift look perfect.
You can find local designer and artists sold at Cassis. I spy halle jean.
You can find other brands such as Petunia Pickle Bottom, Hooter Hiders, Jack and Lily Shoes and Caldrea as well as many more!
The item leaning against the chair is the coolest Advent Calender that I have seen. ( I didnt write down the brand. Sorry.)
Toys seem to be the main attraction during the holiday season. Store manager Marie Ewins told me that brands like Plan Toys and Haba fly off the shelves. All of them being safe and eco friendly.
Stop by and say hello to Molly or Marie and take full advantage of the amazing items Cassis has to offer!! xx
