I have shown a few images of my kid’s rooms in the past but I thought I would give you more of a tour today. We will start with Eden’s room.
My Eden Jo is full of personality so I felt her space needed to be fun and whimsical. My dad painted a quote on the wall that I found off of a greeting card that seemed very fitting of her personality. Her bedding is a mix of Ikea and handmade pillows. The giant horse was a gift from one of her favorite baby sitters. The pin wheels on the wall were left overs from the shower I hosted a few months back.
I bought the armoire a few years ago and painted the outside of the doors Jet black to give it some contrast. The armoire is topped with a variety of sentimental pieces as well as fun pieces. Most of the art in her room is Etsy with exception of an Urban Outfitters print and a mommy made when she was bored print. The butterfly wreathe was also made late at night with 2 besties. I bought the venetian heart shaped mirror for dirt cheap on Ebay.
All in all my little girl is very happy in this room and that is what matters the most!
Tomorrow I will give you a tour of Ethans room and then the playroom.

My Eden’s Room….
Wednesday, September 16th, 2009Pearl Street Interiors…..
Monday, September 14th, 2009Didn’t Jenny from Little Green Notebook do an excellent job on her girl’s bedroom?? What I love about this room besides how beautiful and chic it is, is how she did all of it on a smaller budget. It just comes to show that you do not need to spend alot on great design!
(This is tip #2 of the day following tip #1 which was a basement can even be beautiful!!)
See more of the room here.

Woonbeurs 2008
Tuesday, October 7th, 2008Today I was over visiting Bloesem and some photos caught my eye. Like really caught my eye and made me quite happy:) These photos are from Woonbeurs 2008 , a huge dutch interior design fair in Amsterdam, taken by Erika of MikoDesign. This is the Ariadne at Home children house. Enjoy.

Room of the Week

Room of the Day
Tuesday, August 26th, 2008So I was just browsing Apartment Therapy’s Ohdeedoh for a couple purposes (hint hint JL) and I saw this room. Oh my goodness! I am always (seriously) on the search for the perfect little girls bedroom. It needs to have the perfect balance of pink, girliness, quirkiness and a little bit of fluff. This room fits the bill!
Way To Go Tori!
Tuesday, August 19th, 2008La La Lovely (lovely blog I might add) posted about this home last Wednesday and I became completely smitten:) I had no idea that I would love Tori Spelling’s home so much. I have never watched her reality show so I was pleasantly surprised when I stumbled upon these photos. Does anyone know who her interior designer is??
Do you mind if I move in??
Wednesday, August 13th, 2008I’m sure the owners trying to sell this home in Kingswood wouldn’t mind if I house sat for awhile!
When I stumbled upon this home I quickly thought about how simpler the home can be the more certain pieces are able to be emphasized. If this kitchen /eating area had more objects you probably wouldn’t notice the gorgeous wooden table and chairs. And the fun black and white rug wouldn’t be such an anchor piece for the room.
So my design advice for the day is to keep things simple and only add 1-3 drama pieces in a smaller room and maybe a few more in a larger room.
The stools look great mixed with the wood on the table.
What a fun mix of patterned and solid textiles.
The moldings are great mixed with the more mid century pieces.
The floor looks effortless with the natural light wood.
I love this staircase with the 3 toned rug creeping up.
Everyone needs a tufted leather couch! (Right Hubby?)
The white clean lines in this bathroom create such a relaxing spa mood.
The table and desk give this corner a very vintage feel.
Love love the head and foot board.
This fireplace is so ornate and looks fabulous with more lighthearted toys as the accessories.
This bedroom is light and cheery. The dress displayed is a lovely feature.
I want this shower!!
What a great entertaining space!
All about tykes
Sunday, February 17th, 2008I love love children’s spaces!! If my business could be just designing nursery’s and playroom’s and toddler’s bedrooms, I would be happy and content! I love all the bright color’s you can get away with in a child’s space that would be overwhelming anywhere else. I love how you can be as whimsical and eclectic as you want and your actually helping a child’s sense of sight.
I have found so many great sites to find the funnest, sweetest and most creative children’s design products. Here are a few examples. (Beware, you are going to want to redo your “Jonny’s” bedroom!)

This is a fun idea for a bench! Why not make it a chalkboard bench. All you need is a bench, blackboard paint and chalk for decorating. Fun Fun. Picture from Living Etc.

Check out these Plywood Trophy Heads which you can purchase at Graham and Green. Choose from a natural, white or black deer and or moose.
You can use this LUX US Light cube indoors or outdoors as a lighted planter, toy box, stackable bookshelf or a magazine holder. What a “bright” idea!

I really like this Nurseryworks Macaroni crib bedding set. It comes in 2 fabulous colors, canary and pumpkin. It comes off very modern but curvy. Fun for either boy with pumpkin or girl with canary.

We finally have options when it comes to the “oh how boring” highchair! Goodbye white plastic with blue plaid fabric. Hello sleek and modern. You know you can picture your little one in this beauty!!! There are so many options with this bloombaby fresco highchair that I will let you check it out for yourself.
This adorable green owl print was created by a fellow blogger from Norway, Jeanette Lunde. She is so creative and I love looking at all of her new fun projects on her blog. Check her out at fryd+design.
