I love a good DIY and I appreciate before and  afters.  It shows that we don’t always have to buy new.  We can create amazing pieces from existing furniture with the help of paint, hardware and some tlc.  Design*Sponge had some fabulous before and afters yesterday.  Check them out here.

Flickr is the greatest tool to find amazing designers, artists, photographers and anyone else that is fantastic!  Hilda Grahnat is a photographer from Sweden.  She is only 22 but her talent for photography is way beyond her years.  Her pad is not to shabby either.  And if you check out her photostream, you will learn that she loves all things vintage!

I scored a knock off Saarinen dining table for a steal of a price off of craigs list yesterday.  It is sitting comfortably in my breakfast area and I LOVE it.  I will take pics as soon as my house doesn’t look like a disaster area.

When planning a decorating project or redoing a space do you think in color schemes or do you go with the flow and whatever color works together, works together?  I seem to lean on the side of playing with colors that don’t usually meet.  But at the same time, there are certain color schemes that I love.  One being gray, cream and yellow (mustard).  I cant get enough of it!  I also love whites and blacks paired with bold colors.
Colors certainly set the mood!  That is why it is so important to be picky with the more permanent colors in your home.  You can always change and have more fun with temporary items like accessories, linens, small furniture, ect.  That is why I chose to do a neutral gray color scheme on my walls.  I know myself and I know that my mind changes alot!

What about you?  Do you have a favorite color scheme?  Do you even like color pallets?

White and black allows for alot of bold colors in the accessories.

Lots of neutrals allow you to change the color accents.

I am so elated and proud to be showing these images to you!  Amber Fischer did an AMAZING job photographing Brass Razoo.  All of the hard work putting this shop together completely payed off when I saw these pictures.  Hope you like!!

My house is slowly clearing out due to selling pieces in the shop or just giving stuff away.  My office is almost empty except for a table that acted as a desk.  I am never really attached to anything (except for my bourgie lamp. haha).   Its just stuff that can easily be replaced.  Plus my home is a evolving window display and the more I change things up the more fun I have.  Luckily my family is totally on board.  So you might see some new pieces appearing in my house and some old pieces disappearing.  Either way Simply Grove is all for the adventure of decorating!
